Bernhard started playing the pianos at the music school at the age of 8.
Later in 1991 he started playing guitar due to influences of Queen guitar player Brian May. It was at the end of October 1993, where his dad invited him to a show of the british Rock band Deep Purple. Being thrilled by Ian Paice´s drumming at this show, Bern started playing the drums in a music gymnasium. His parents always supported him in his plans, and so his dad bought him a new drum kit.
After joining some bands with some friends from school he decided to get a pro musician, practiced every day for serveral hours and passed the qualification examination for music and jazz drums at the conservatory in Klagenfurt in 1999.
In 2000 he moved to Vienna, went to the SAE college and kept on studying drums at the conservatory. One year later he got known to his hero Ian Paice in Italy and joined many clinics, Ian held this time all over Italy. On 28th of September 2001 Ian and Bernhard decided to do a show together in Austria, which they successfully did exactly one year later on 28th of September 2002 in Wels/Austria
Because of Ian, he also got known to Jon Lord and the rest of the Purple crew, where the other projects developed over the last years.
